Rainbows of colorful dresses, good food and drink, amazing music and lots of dancing surrounded our celebration of Jaki’s Makerere University graduation – it was a BIG colorful celebration. The party room was crowded with Jaki’s immediate family, relatives, friends from veterinary school, friends from choir and friends from her village. The room could barely contain all the love and joy.
As many knew and even more came to learn – Jaki is the original student, who inspired the One Heart Uganda scholarship program 14 years ago. Her journey from 8-year old primary school student to university Veterinary Medicine graduate was no small feat and a major milestone for the program. 
So, it was fitting that many current scholarship students and graduates (including new Makerere grad, Mukiibi Mike) joined her on the stage to be recognized and celebrated. Her moment of pride was a moment we all truly shared and had a ball celebrating.
