Paying it forward

Josephine has dreamed of being a teacher since we first met her in secondary school. She has achieved her certificate of education from the Kaliro Teachers College and will begin her internship at St. Gonzaga Senior School in Eastern Uganda this month. Her practice was initially delayed by the pandemic’s pause in schooling and she’s eager to get into the classroom.

Once her internship is complete, she will apply for her bachelor’s degree and resume her studies. Josephine, not one to sit still for long, taught herself how to raise hens and pigs during her training pause. We’re thrilled to witness the passion she has for education that will soon be helping other students learn and grow.
