During our 2018 trip, drivers Elisha and Kenny performed the important duty of safely transporting our team throughout central Uganda. Over our days together, they became fast friends and trusted allies – as they often pitched in to help with interviewing students and translating.
The recent lockdowns in Uganda that prevented public transportation and tourism brought an end to their work and bleak economic impact. The 2018 team stepped up and raised more than $800 in funds, outside of OHU, to ensure Elisha and Kenny could care for themselves and their families during this difficult time.
