The Uganda classroom curriculum at St. Andrew School in Chicago has been a big hit. Don’t take our word for it – just listen to the 2nd grade and their spontaneous cheer after creating Ugandan flags.
Thanks to the leadership of Kelly Shea and Paula Thivierge, teachers at every level have been supplied activities and mini-lessons to bring Uganda to life for their students. This curriculum project is the first step in creating a more comprehensive lesson plan that will be supported by materials and experiences brought back from their visit with OHU this July.
St. Andrew’s 4th grade teacher, Alyson Block, proudly displayed her students’ handiwork, declaring, “The 4th grade had a blast finishing these multiplication mystery pictures of animals from Uganda. It led us into a great discussion about Uganda.”
Creating great discussions and great learning both in the U.S. and in Uganda is our aim.
