Last month, Ellen Totaro, a Freshman at Lane Tech High School and alumni of St. Andrew School, chose One Heart Uganda as her Freshman Research Project. The assignment was to pick a global problem in one country, write a paper and conduct a community service project in support of the topic.
“I picked the lack of education in Uganda, because I believe and appreciate the fact that I am given a great education while others don’t have the opportunity,” Ellen said. “So to help and make a difference, I wanted to inform others of the differences they can make in helping others, and I think that the One Heart Uganda program is a great opportunity to help and spread the news.”
We’re grateful that she chose One Heart Uganda and helped us prepare the care package envelopes that sponsors will fill to be delivered to students this June.
