Jimmy’s Metal Works – Grad update

Two years ago, Jimmy graduated with a diploma in metal fabrication, today he runs a successful welding business with two employees and mentors other young people during school breaks. We were delighted to tour his shop, One Heart Uganda Blessed Best Welders, in Lwamata on our recent visit.

Local schools and businesses hire Jimmy to outfit their buildings with metal doors and windows. He and his employees build bed frames for dormitories and other furniture. The building that houses his workshop also includes living quarters for his mother and daughter, Agnes.

His biggest fan, Shannon Fultz, has supported him through school and the start of his business that required bringing electrical lines to the shop location and acquiring several different kinds of machinery. He shared his heartfelt gratitude to Shannon and OHU, “I appreciate all that you have done for me – and not just the support for me but also it helps another generation and the employees who work here. Our customers are growing and the workshop is improving – thank you!”
